question 7

  1. Firstly, the use of colour and contrast. Since it was a college magazine I wanted to have the same theme as the college logo. However, what actually happened didn’t look quite good and in fact looked like cluster of colours clashing each other and didn’t quite look attractive. So for the music magazine, what I decided to do was to actually find colours that would match my genre and so that it would complement it. So I picked the colours (red, black) instead of the possibly 4 which I had for my college magazine. Furthermore, it all looked quite good and seemed like a very appropriate colour choice. In addition, from one of the comments left on my college magazine I improved on my music magazine, which in fact was the size of the logo. Which I fully agree with, in the college magazine it was quite small and on the left corner. Which was very true, so as a result when designing the early stages of the future logo I would make sure it would take up the whole top and was quite appropriate towards my genre and the target market as well as quite aesthetically pleasing. Furthermore I went for a logo which was a mix of magazines which inspired and influence which were Vibe and XXL. Vibe, the size and placement of the logo, which then XXL just the colour choice. The sublines was another issue, even though in the college magazine the placement was good, it didn’t have much content, at least not enough to possibly draw the reader in. So, what I decided to do, I made the sublines larger.
